Kota is making lives or taking lives?

In few months we seen the many suicide by students living in kota. Where stressful study heavy competition, limited seats available to qualify for their dream college. All of the things make the students life stressful some of the students shine from their difficult situation but some loses hope their after seeing that much of competition and end their life. recently a survey conducted by Lokniti-Centre for the study of Developing societies (CSDS) of students in kota. The reports of survey shows how the students are living their and what they are facing in kota in their day-to-day life.

Survey by CSDS

1. How much they spent in coaching centres

where 85% students said that they spent 6 to 7 hours per day in their coaching centre but this is only time which they spend in coaching centre where they learn concept reality when they come after coaching they need to spend their time on homework given by teacher in coaching centre and prepare for the weekly test conducted in every week in their respective coaching institutions.

2. What is the change of order of sleep after joining kota

Where 50% students says that after joining kota they go late sleep and 32 % said that they wake up earlier as compare to their before sleep but if a student in going on bed late and waking up early their sleep cycle is fully disturbed and after that how can a student perform after all of these type of situation.

3. Major section weekly tests

When asks to many students about the weekly test the reaction and review is quiet mixed where 54% students said that weekly tests are helpful on that other hand 34 % said that tests can be conducted sometime not weekly and rest 11% said that weekly tests are stressful

Reality of weekly test in Kota

The class of any coaching institution are divided into five batches
Star Batch
1 Batch
2 Batch
3 Batch
4 Batch
and this was a major reason of suicides in kota when weekly tests are conducted they decide on the basis of their performance in which batch a students belong for example a student who is a top scorer in in his school given his test and get admission in 1 batch of any kota classes after a week if he not able to perform well he will dropped 2 batch and if not well then 3 and then 4 batch and all batch are decided according to marks in weekly test and which student gets and which batch all decided by their marks in weekly test in just one week and suppose that topper who belong to 1 batch suddenly he not able to perform well or become ill and he dropped to 4 batch then how can he handle the pressure of that thing because he was the topper who never have live with the students like that.
This was the major reason of ending life by a student in kota that thing must be change many times this year advisory given by administration to stop weekly tests for sometimes but also this thing needed to judge the performs of a student but not the her environment of living.
